About Chess
This is full chess against a computer opponent. You play white and move first. Every rule is in: castling, en passant, pawn promotion where you pick the piece, check, checkmate and stalemate. Games also end in a draw after fifty moves without a capture or pawn move, on threefold repetition, or when neither side has enough pieces left to mate.
Pick a level before you start. Easy looks one move ahead and makes mistakes, Medium plans two moves and spots most captures, and Hard looks three moves deep. Your score grows as you take pieces, and a win adds a bonus that gets bigger on the harder levels. Made a blunder? The undo button takes back your last move.
How to play
- Tap one of your pieces to see its legal moves, then tap a highlighted square.
- When a pawn reaches the far end, choose a queen, rook, bishop or knight.
- Press U or tap Undo to take back a move, and N for a new game.
